About
RENÈ is a genderless, Copenhagen-based brand rooted in fashion as a living, evolving form, exploring clothing as sculptural structures in constant dialogue with the body while shifting, breathing, and changing through movement and time. RENÈ centers on generous volumes, fluid and assertive materials, with silhouettes that follow or accentuates the rhythm of the body rather than restricting it. Garments are approached as tactile, temporal objects, shaped not only by construction and textile fall, but also by how they are worn and experienced. This perspective challenges conventional ideas of form and function, opening a more sensorial understanding of dress.
RENÈ is run by Jens Skov Østergaard and his wife, Kridipat Østergaard, forming a cross-cultural collaboration that deeply informs the design process, drawing on a fascination with craft, culture, and heritage. RENÈ blends Scandinavian restraint with Eastern precision. Their shared practice brings multiple perspectives on identity, form, materiality, tradition, and contemporaneity.
Committed to high-quality craftsmanship and responisble production, RENÈ works exclusively with deadstock fabrics primarily sourced from Denmark, Italy, and Japan. Many of the textiles originate as surplus from the Danish interior and furniture industry, allowing luxury upholstery and drapery fabrics to be recontextualised.
